We go together!!

Its the end of May which means there are a few things going on! Number 1- its nearly June and so i'll be leaving for home in 1 month! Closer to my 21st birthday aka legal to do anything in US mwhahaha!

Second- the French Open has started which means its also getting closer to Wimbledon :-) cmon Fed!

Also, it's the second week of summer school and my first exam is approaching! So summer is here- well the good weather anyway! It said it was 101 degrees (38C) today and 94 degrees (34C) at 6pm which means that its time for relaxing in the sun! I have officially decided that it is time to get rid of my hurrendous tan lines as they make people go blind just by looking at them! I have already made progress with feet which people often mistake for white socks!!

Last weekend was an eventful one where I shot a pellet gun wahoo and tested out my amazingly bad aiming skills! Although I surprised myself because I didnt think I would do very well. I also tried a hammock for the first time in my life and it is very comfy! It is especially nice at night so you can look at the stars and go to sleep!

Was a bit of a waiting game last week to see if I would get into Nationals, so I eventually went to Athens in Georgia...... but didnt get in! Couldnt believe it as I was 2nd alternate and usually they need some- but girls are stubborn and nobody moved up. So i missed 4 days worth of school so I am extremely far behind and now have to catch up- typical! But was good while we were there. Saw some awesome signs.

One was a massive great big billboard sign on the highway saying JESUS. Out of pure curiosity I looked on the back of it as we drove by to see if it said anything else and it said "Coming Soon". An amazing joke for the weekend.

Another was when we were driving past a cemetary and it had a yellow sign just before the entrance which said "Dead end".

Didnt think Athens was going to be such a funny place to be.

This weekend was another story. On Friday I went 4 wheeling and playing golf which was fun! I havent played golf before but I have been on a driving range once! Started out rubbish and then felt pretty good at the end. I'm afraid that people will not want to copy my golf technique as it is some need of some work!

I went to watch Sean and his family at the Pryor Open this weekend. It was good fun to watch instead of playing as now I know what it feels like when people watch me. I also took the opportunity to tan! My feet are doing well- just an update!

Us looking cool haha!
I definately think you should check out this....
The Lord of the Rings Symphony

as it is amazing and I now officially want to go and see this live. Anyone willing.....?
It is incredible to look at all the different parts of the music and how it is put together. I personally love the strings as they sound so good. I was thinking that the guy who does the penny whistle/ tin whistle has no pressure lol! Even the other soloists too! It is so relaxing to listen to this music andI could listen to it all day!
I was also trying to teach my friend Sean the words to the We go together song in Grease as its so much fun to be able to sing along to it!

The Song of the Weekend however is Oasis- Champagne Supernova

I just cant seem to get it out of my head so its the song of the weekend officially now!

Just to say that the other week I was up at 12.30am and I started listening to the Chris Moyles show live! Ahhh it was amazing to listen to it again as I have missed it so much! I used to wake up at 6.30 every morning before tennis and just listen to it before I had to get up!

I also wanted to show you my art- from my block class that I am taking this summer!
I spent a lot of time making the front and back covers.....

This is the drawing I drew last week and I thought I did it right originally, but my professor told me to change some angles today so here is the finished one. But im still sure some angles arent right and they were right before he told me to change it...again! I guess he is the professor!

This week we are focusing on contour line drawings and also doing them blind. Blind however, does not mean closing your eyes but it means that you are not allowed to look at your paper whilst drawing.

Contour line drawings are where you are not allowed to take the pen/pencil off the paper at all and it has to be a continous mark.
These pictures arent very clear but if you can see them....

They almost look abstract and I think its cool!
I really like my lion, and this was drawn blindly.

I took some pictures from a magazine aswell instead of drawing people all the time. I actually really like drawing people though.

The elephant is a favourite of mine. You cant see the next one too clearly and so we also have to use pen. The last one was drawn blindly so you can tell as it doesnt really look how it "should" look.

It is supposed to get rid of your prejudice of what you think you see. For example, if told to draw a christmas tree you might draw something like this

However what is really there is

I just checked the NCAA rankings this evening for the team and we ended the season ranked 23, which is pretty good considering. It is exactly where we guessed we would be. Hoping that next year we will break our highest of 19th and reach the sweet 16.

Just think- in 3 days time i will only have 4 weeks left in Tulsa. But then, im sure i'll be back before you know it!

ANOTHER TU SEASON OVER!

Yet another amazing Tulsa season done and finally summer is here. Tennis is nearly over for another 3 months but summer school starts soon!

We are sadly saying goodbye to four of our seniors who we will miss so much! Here is a video I made for our seniors to thank them for an amazing time I and the rest of the team had with them.

We had our senior meal which was amazing as usual and I made sure I got the best cheesecake from the the Cheesecake Factory- which is of course the red velvet!!

Highlights of this season were winning Conference for the third straight year (my second straight) and reaching the second round of NCAAs. We finished on a 23-4 win season. We will hopefully make the Sweet 16 next year as that is our big goal!!

At conference where we always try to celebrate with a water fight with Dean!

After winning our first round at NCAAs against Stephen F Austin and then unfortunately missing out on going to Georgia by losing to Baylor :-(

I will also miss my doubles partner Bonny- cause we kicked ass this season!

Big and sad news today :-( My roommate has officially moved out and so I will miss her alot! My apartment looks pretty empty!

But one thing to look forward to is that I will be finally getting my teeth into my Junior year here and cant wait to make a fresh start. Lots of classes to take next year but it will mean I cant get distracted by tv shows or eating too much cake lol!

I've been getting back into one of my favourite tv series, other than Friends. Been watching so many Gilmore Girls episodes and I love it so much- and I especially love the opening song its just so catchy and I love Luke too!!!

Maybe to make me extra happy today they might start making them again cause I miss them on TV! Plus it gives me something else to do other than homework and spend money on things I dont need.

You should also check out the scene from Hot Fuzz as I watched it again the other day and I think its hilarious!

You cant get better than that!

Talking about films and film music- I love Lord of the Rings because it has some amazing music in it by Howard Shore but I also like to keep big playlists of film music to listen to!

The pieces that I am really enjoying right now are
Marianelli: Dawn  from Pride and Prejudice
The music from the Twilight Piano Series including Twilight Piano Series – Bella's Dying - Andante Affettuosso
Maestro- from The Holiday
Janusz Olejniczak – Prélude in E minor, Op. 28, No. 4
Janusz Olejniczak – Nocturne in C-sharp minor (1830)  both from The Pianist
Royal Philharmonic Orchestra;Paul Bateman – Love Actually - Glasgow Love Theme
Howard Shore – The Fellowship Reunited from Lord of the Rings
Forest Gump - Feather Theme

and you can never go wrong with a bit of Robbie singing Angels so if anyone has tickets to see him live I will love them forever!!!

Really looking forward to the time off and cant wait to go home for Summer and celebrate my 21st with my family and best friends! And maybe get time to see some of the Olympics and def go to Wimbledon!
